Linda’s Top Ten

No, you're not tuned into David Letterman . . . But, before we get to that, here's a project I worked on tonight. I had hoped to use it in an upcoming workshop, but decided it was a little too tricky to work with the acetate, and, well, I wasn't as pleased with it as I hoped I would be. It is growing on me a little – it might be cute for Easter.

Here's the top.

I think my challenge was that the acetate I used wasn't as pliable as I hoped – it was a little difficult to see and use the score lines (problem #1). I think the trick is to find some really inexpensive overhead sheets (transparencies). Anyway, thanks to Dannie at Dannie's Designs and Becky Fisher for sharing their instructions for these boxes. I used the Polka Dots and Petals stamp set with Craft White ink, heat set on the acetate. The paper is Petals & Paisleys, which has some Ruby Red and Olive Green, but they didn't show up as well as I hoped (problem #2). That's the beautiful taffeta ribbon and felt elements and accents flower fusion, that, luckily is pretty hard to mess up.

Okay, now, to Linda's Top Ten. Stampin' Up! has made it so easy and enticing to become a Demonstrator this month and next, that here is my Top Ten Reasons for Joining Stampin' Up!

#2. Beginning this month, joining is only a click away. Just go here, and enter LMac2008 when it asks for your Recruiter Authorization Password.

#1. Your stamping supplies and crafting space are a tax write-off!

As if all that weren't enough, Stampin' Up! even sweetened the deal more through March 17. During Sale-A-Bration, anyone who joins as a demonstrator can earn the free Sale-a-Bration stamp sets and choose any additional stamp set—a value of up to $47.95—from the Spring-Summer 2008 Collection.

Okay, I don't think David Letterman will be calling me to help with his next top-ten, but you can call me anytime, or better yet, e-mail me at

Okay . . . since I scratched my first project . . . off to plan another project for next week's workshop. Happy Superbowl!
