My Dad was so funny – I love his clever take on things. When a birthday was approaching and I got a little down about it, he’d say, "It beats the alternative." Well, that’s true!
I love Yolanda Vasquez’s work. Here are her creations with the Sale-a-bration Birthday Whimsy stamp set. Her cards would definitely make anyone’s birthday a joyous occasion.
I love how she put a little strip of color on the left and added brads to make the card look below like a bound edition. She shared a tip on that watermark cake in the corner. She created the watermark by stamping the image with Versamark ink and then embossing it with clear embossing powder. But, and here’s the tip, she stamped the sentiment first – so it shows up behind the embossing.
I hope you can see from this not-so-great picture, this card opens like a file folder. It’s great for a guy or co-worker’s card.
I saved the best for last – this is my favorite of Yolanda’s cards. Unfortunately, you can’t see the detail that well, but she used clear embossing to get a gorgeous floral background on the top part of the card base. And, cake topper is one of our flowers from the Pretties Kit, died and folded. Unfortunately, you also can’t see that Yolanda put some beautiful glitter touches to make that cake look scrumptious.
Thanks again to Cyndee, Yolanda, Jane, Melissa, Katherine, and Pam for sharing your Sale-a-bration creations. I hope they’ve inspired you with some fun ideas for your free sets – I know their creations have me jumping to put ink to these stamp sets.
