This little 6×6 page by Becky Dyer from Las Vegas was one of my favorite swaps from convention. Isn't it gorgeous? I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Bloomin Beautiful made it from the mini catalog to the new "big" catalog, because I love this set.
Becky was kind enough to write the recipe on the back:
Stamps:Bloomin Beautiful and Sanded
Cardstock: Kraft, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Blue Bayou
Pads:Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Sky Blue, Bashful Blue,Yoyo Yellow, Old Olive
Accessories:Aqua Painters, Blender Pen, sponges, 1/16" circle punch, and spiral and photo corner punches.
Liking it as much as I do, you know I had to CASE it. So, here's my version, made into a 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inch card.
I changed the blossom colors to the new Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink, and popped up the wings of the bee with pop dots. I also applied a little ivory-colored acrylic paint with a dry brush to add just a little more distressing. Can you see it better, here?
You'll laugh when I tell you about her little hat pin embellishment. Stampin' Up! doesn't carry a hat pin with a pearl tip, and I hunted all over kingdom come until I finally realized that her hat pin is really just a corsage pin with an earring back. What genius! I ran to the wedding isle of Hobby Lobby (or was it Michaels, I can't remember now) to find the pin and to the beading section for the earring back. The crystal and pearl beads are of course from our Pretties Kit.
Those blossoms behind these projects are the beautiful flowers my daughter sent me for my birthday.
My daughter wrote such a lovely note, I told her I can just imagine the florist tearing up when she wrote it down for her: "Mom, the title of this bouquet is enchanted journey, which is what I hope you think of when you remember your past 50 years. I'm so happy I've had a chance to be in 21 of those. To many more enchanted years. Love so much, Caitlin." Yeah, don't think I didn't tear up a little myself. I love, love, love the flowers, but I love her note even more. I'm certainly living an enchanted dream.
