A Witch-mobile Favor Bag

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

Here's the last of our Batty for You Halloween ensemble. This one comes with a little help from crafting wizard, Martha Stewart. I was too lazy to go find twigs, so I bought her broom favor bags with my 40% Michaels coupon. Guess what, the package advertises that it makes 6 goody bags, but there are materials to make 12. I just added another tag from our Batty for You stamp set, 1-5/8" and 1-1/4" circle punches, our circle scallop punch; Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie cardstock; black hemp and some miscellaneous ribbon.

Martha Stewart also put a video on her website showing how to make these treat bags with brown sandwich bags, a craft knife, scissors, wax thread, and an apple tree limb. You can view her making them with country music icon Faith Hill, here.

You might be able to speed up the process, too, using a shredder – depending on the type you have. A friend of mine (whaz-up Pam) said she made them using our cellophane bags as the inside bag and added raffia - ooo, I like that idea. And, finally, if you want to see yet another version, check out page 29 of our Stampin' Up! Fall & Winter catalog.

So . . . here's the full ensemble – or is it? I still have a few surprises for my hostess club I'll post later.

When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam,
May luck be yours on Halloween.

I was pondering what to buy at Michaels’ with my coupon….and I did see these..they are just so cute!!!

  2. Hey Linda! Awesome Halloween jokes and musings – as well as a terrific ensemble! I like Halloween too, and as a fellow Christian (Catholic, not Methodist) – I look at Halloween as a fun time too – then I look beyond it to remembering the our deceased loved ones.
Anywho – too cute! I am working on Halloween projects too, for once! – here’s what I’ve done so far….I wish I had some of the SU DSP to make that bag you made – I love it! And I’m not usually hip on skeletons!

  3. I love these little witch’s brooms. Has anyone thought about putting the little battery operated tea-light candles in them for decorations. I don’t think they generate enough heat to be a problem.

  4. these are fabulous! I made a witch broom too…yours looks much nicer…your little strips lay so nice and perfect!! :)
