The Enlarged Horizon

A dream is the bearer of a new possibility, the enlarged horizon, the great hope.

I'm freakishly exited to tell you about all the amazing things our very own Top Chef Corinna McGregor has been up to. I'm so proud of her. This ingenious entrepreneur and inventor has created an invaluable tool for those of us who love ribbon, well, so much so, that we're challenged with how to store it all. And, besides all that, she's assembled an amazing team of designers who, beginning today, started the first ever Ribbon Carousel Challenge.

I know, that's a lot of superlatives. Guilty as charged. I'm just proud as a peach of Corinna, proud to be part of her design team and thrilled that she's sponsoring our Catered Crop linking party this week. Shew, so much excitement, I may faint.  πŸ˜‰

To participate in the Ribbon Carousel challenges, your creation needs to have some have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, or basically just anything that comes on a spool. And, this week's challenge is an inspiration challenge, with the inspiration being, appropriately enough, the Ribbon Carousel itself.

I know, my card looks absolutely nothing like the Ribbon Carousel. You know, I've never been one to follow the rules. I took the challenge a little more figuratively. I knew I wanted my first card for Corinna to be something that honored her new venture. So my card honors the Carousel more than it resembles it. See, never follow the rules. Hey, but I did use four different kinds of ribbon/twine.

I don't know if you can see from my minimal photography skills, but I popped up the window frame and curtains with dimensional tape and added transparency film to make a window frame. It's kind of like a shaker box without the shakers. It's really cute in real life.

  • Stamps – Eat Cake Graphics 1141-M Trust

I didn't follow the rules . . . so you might like to visit some folks who did. Say hey to some of the other lovely Ribbon Carousel Crew members.

  1. Love your work on this…color, design…it is all appealing to the eye. I have yet to find some crushed organza ribbon although the seam binding tape is a great touch and less cost…
