If at first you don’t succeed . . .

If at first you don't succeed,
destroy all evidence that you tried.

I keep trying to win the My Favorite Things (MFT, one of my favorite stamping extravagances) guest designer slot. Here’s the evidence.

Back in April I went Shabby Chic with this entry.

Pure Innocence One Sweet Chick Card and Box

Wasn’t meant to be in April.

In May I entered this cutie when MFT announced the theme was “Denim and Bling.”

Wasn’t meant to be in May.

I wasn’t going to enter again but I’m a stubborn fool. Last weekend, I wanted to win so much, my hands were shaking while I answered the challenge to Personalize a project.

I uploaded my project and then in the very last hours of the contest, I had another idea: personalized clothespins. We were rounding the 4th turn of the race of time, so the whole family rallied behind Team Linda. Ben ran the die cut machine, Caitlin helped stamp, Tom made dinner, Mailey and Pillow did their floor surveillance (guarding the floor from loose crumbs), and I directed traffic. With only seconds left, I hit the upload switch.

MFT Personalized Clothespins

I don’t have to hide the evidence. I won! I won! I won! All of Team Linda can run our victory lap!

Catered Crop Recipe

Seventeen people in three cabins is a lot of dishes, cups and beach towels to keep track of during our family reunion next week. We like to conserve as much as possible, so we label plastic cups, etc., and encourage everyone to reuse them. Everyone’s getting one of these so they can clip them on their plates, etc., and say: Hands Off! That’s my pie! Genius, right?

MFT Embellished Clothespins

Here's the recipe for the clothespins. You can find the recipe for the rest of JoAnn's "personalized" kitchen set here.

  • Paper – Lillybee Design Happily Lost
  • Stamps – My Favorite Things Typewriter Alphabet
  • Color Mediums – Memento ink
  • Miscellaneous – Canvas Corp Clothespins, Modge Podge

If you’ve entered the Catered Crop Follow the Recipe challenges and don’t feel like you’re even getting a nod, please, please don’t give up and don’t hide the evidence. I love seeing your entries. Just one more time – it could be the one!

And, if it's not the one . . . maybe it can be the other one. Because at Catered Crop there are two chances to win. Congratulations to Dana. She won the random drawing for $25 of stamps at Inky Antics. Dana, just e-mail me doll, and we’ll hook you up. Oooo, and I loved your bodacious bathing beauty card. If you all didn’t see it, take a gander at this. (I’ve been cracking so many bad butt crack jokes thanks to her, that the design team’s gonna have my . . . oops, another bad pun.)

We're on our Griswold-like family vacation – driving from Texas to Indiana. I'll still have some creations to share with you and, of course, come back on Sunday to see who are next Guest Chef and inspiration will be for the Follow-the-Recipe #14.
