MFTWSC37 – Kitchen Appeal

There is no sight on earth more appealing
than the sight of a woman making dinner for someone she loves.

MFT PI Fresh From the Oven Closeup

Mr. Catered Crop would tell you I'm as stunning as a rare gem when I'm in the kitchen. Unfortunately, his emphasis would be on "rare" rather than gem.

Thankfully Mr. Catered Crop and the kids are more comfortable in the kitchen and certainly make much more appealing food than I do. Ben is the skilled gourmand, Caitlin likes to send us on adventures with her exquisite flavor experiments, and Mr. Catered Crop can always be counted on for the tried and true family favorites.

I'm great at . . . setting the table. Hey, don't laugh. I got a ribbon for it in 4-H. At least my table is appealing.

Did you see this?! I know! Crazy, right?! I really didn't think anyone would like this card because it's so crazy hectic. But I guess you all are as crazy as I am because it seems it's a very popular card. It won me a spot on the My Favorite Things (MFT) design team for their October release. Squeeee!!! Ooo, and I get to help reveal the Wednesday Stamp Club (WSC) sketches this month.

The sketches are based on such great design, it makes crafting your card easy as pie, cake or you know, whatever it is you're cooking for dinner. You can get all the details and see all the fabulous creations of the other ladies at the My Favorite Things Blog. Oh dear, I hope my creation doesn't look like chop liver next to their Liver Foie Gras Pate.

Catered Crop Recipe

I wanted the gingham scallop in the center to resemble an oil-cloth tablecloth, so I painted it with Crystal Effects. It went well with the glaze on this gorgeous paper. Here's the rest of the recipe to my Kitchen Appeal card.

  • Paper – KaiserKraft Nan's Favorite, Bazzill, Neenah, and Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps – My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Fresh from the Oven
  • Color Mediums – Memento ink, Copics, Stampin' Up! Pastels
  • Fibers – Stampin' Up! Taffeta Ribbon, Baker's Twine
  • Tools – My Favorite Things File Tab Die-namics
  • Embellishments – October Afternoon button

Thanks for hanging out with me. We're gonna have a blast cooking up all kinds of trouble this month!
