Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.
~ John Wayne
I'd like to dedicate this little card to the cowboy who puts his boots under my bed. Okay, Mr. Catered Crop isn't really a cowboy and he rarely wears cowboy boots. He's a CFO who ropes more numbers than cows. But, you get the idea.
My day job investigating nursing home complaints just gets a little wild sometimes. Tom's usually the one who gives me a leg up when I need courage to get back up on the saddle. He helps me brush the dust off a tough investigation so I can keep on meeting and helping amazing seniors across Central Texas. This little card doesn't touch the surface of all the thanks he deserves. Tom, you're my hero, with or without cowboy boots.
I'm crazy excited about this card for a couple of other great reasons – it lets me show of the talents of two very special people.
The boots and barbed wire stamp images are from Texana Designs, the sponsor of our Catered Crop challenge this week. Texana Designs is owned by my very sweet friend, Jimmye Sue Mitchell. She's such a joy and such an amazingly talented paper craft artist. I love it when our paths cross, which, unfortunately, is not nearly often enough. So, you have to indulge me for a second while I show her off with another dear friend, one of our Top Chef Emeritus members, Libby Hickson.
That's Libby gracefully smiling while I'm sitting on her lap and no doubt squishing her to smithereens, and that's the lovely Jimmye Sue on the right. Ah, I love that paper crafting gives me the excuse to hang out with such fun people.
Don't you just love this word art!? I adore it for two reasons: (1) it's stinkin' cute and (2) it's designed by my daughter, Caitlin McClain, the brains and talent behind feb10 design. She's an amazing graphic designer, and not just because I said so. Her adorable creations just got picked up by one of the hottest stores in Austin, Parts and Labor. You can get your hands on her cards, calendars, prints, and other printables at her Etsy shop, feb10design.
And, are you ready for this . . . you can get your hands on this word art here! feb10 design is offering this word art for free exclusively to Catered Crop friends and family. Download it by just clicking on the picture below.
