Vintage Popcorn

When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things – not the great occasions – give off the greatest glow of happiness. ~ Bob Hope

No, not stale popcorn, vintage!  Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net One of my favorite things (beside crafting) is going antique treasure hunting with my daughter – one of those really special times when I get to do something I love with someone I love. This weekend was perfect treasure hunting, Christmas shopping weather – kind of wet and foggy. I know, weird, right? Who likes cold, wet weather? But sunny 70 degree weather just isn't as romantic as sweater weather for Christmas shopping. Ooooo, and I'm so excited! I got my first Christmas gift this weekend when we found a vintage typewriter in perfect condition. Squeeee! Such a tease – they won't let me play with it until Christmas.  Yes, there will be pictures! When I saw these antique jello molds I had an epiphany! They'd be perfect for filling some of my husband's fantastic caramel corn.   Well, yeah, I had to do more than just fill them with popcorn – I decorated them with burlap bows and tags. Fun, right?!   I love that this little project combines two of my favorite companies, October Afternoon and My Favorite Things. My Favorite Things is revealing their newest releases this week and I'm definitely amending my letter to Santa with each release day. And you know, I can never resist their guest designer contest. There's one more day to enter if you want to join me, here. This month the contest suggests we Play Tag, so you know, I put tags on my tags.
