White Pages Recipe Swap

Where does the white go
when the snow melts?
     ~ Hugh Kieffer

Congratulations to Donna Mikasa and Kim Singdahlsen. Did you see what those ladies did with their Washi tape? It was crazy amazing. Washi queens, you're invited to join our Top Chef designers in next Sunday's Quickfire and grab the Winning Recipe button. Just contact me for all the details.

Congratulations also to player #26, Beth from Beth-a-Palooza. Random.org smiled kindly upon you, and you've won $25.00 GIFT CERTIFICATE to get you some more Washi tape at Chickydoddle. You can reach me through my contact page, here, and I'll get you hooked up. Have fun!

Catered Crop Recipe Swap Button

This challenge is inspired by our own Catered Crop Chef Silke Ledlow. What that woman can make with white paper knocks my socks off! Just look at the archives of her blog and you'll see how masterfully she uses white in her projects to bring out the rest of the colors. You'll see layers or white, white doilies and lace, white flowers . . . that all add dimension without distracting from her focal images.

So, my loves, get out those lonely, underutilized white crayons out of the coloring box, because our featured ingredient for the next Catered Crop Recipe Swap is the color white.

  • Just use the color white somewhere in your project.
  • Include a link to us at Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often, but be sure you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, August 18.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.
  • Check back with us on August 19 to see if you've won an opportunity to be a guest designer.

Have you noticed that crafters seem to be using more of the color white in their projects? Maybe it's that clean-and-simple trend, or maybe they've discovered it's just a good way to make the other colors pop off the page. I've been noticing the trend and curating some ideas for you here.

The second Sunday of our challenge our chefs dish up what they've prepared with our featured ingredient. Come back and see us on Sunday, August 12, to savor our chefs' creations with their white pages.
