And so today, my world it smiles,
your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done,
for you to me are the only one.
~ "Thank You" lyrics by Robert Plant for Led Zeppelin

Are you blessed with people in your lives who always know exactly the perfect gift? My mother in law was one of those people. Even on that first awkward Christmas when my Tom and I had just started dating, she knew how to make me feel perfectly welcomed with a gift that immediately made me feel a part of her family. And when Ben and Caitlin were growing up she magically always knew the exact clothing sizes. It was as if she took notes all year long and listened to wishes we didn't know we had. Her gifts from past Christmases are still some of my most cherished treasures.
Yeah, I'm not one of those magical people who always knows the perfect gift.
I like to give gift cards.
And, people like to get gift cards from me because, well, the consequences of getting a gift I pick out could be bad.
I'm showing off one of two new sets designed by the uber talented Lisa Johnson, Gift Card Greetings II. Thank you Lisa for making us gift-card-givers look Good.
Here's the inside – with the perfect sentiment from the same set.
Did you spy some new Die-namics? I used some new favorites I'm sure you'll see on lots of my projects in the future: the new Winter Rose, Sentimental Flourish, Horizontal Gift Card Pocket, and Looped Border.
I treated the Sentimental Flourish and Looped Border with some micro-glitter to take it uptown, using a technique similar to the one shared by paper-craft genius Jody Morrow here. I covered the top side of the Banana Split card stock with an adhesive sheet, removed the adhesive backing and sprinkled it with the fine glitter. Then I ran the sparkly paper through the die cut machine with the Looped Border and Sentimental Flourish Die-Namics. If you're working with fine glitter, you can add the glitter to the paper before you run it through the die cut. It makes a really beautiful effect.
Rumor has it the new ink colors being released this week are Razzleberry and Lemon Drop, and I'm just the kind of crazy to combine those colors into one project. When I spotted a lollypop with the same color combo, I knew it was fated for this:
Did you know My Favorite Things carries patterned paper now, too? Here are the other My Favorite Things toys I used for these projects.
Thank you again for swinging by. You still have places to go and people to see . . . off with you. Go visit the MFT Blog and say hi to the other designers for me.Pin It
