I can no other answer make,
but, thanks, and thanks.
~ William Shakespeare
Boy oh Boy do I know how Bill Shakespeare felt. Your sweet comments this week about my projects have just left me overwhelmed with gratitude. So much so that "I can no answer make but" thank you very much, merci boucoup (French), danke schön (German), and muchas gracias (Spanish).
That's about as multi-lingual as I get, but I want to say thank you in all the ways I know how for making me feel so welcome to the My Favorite Things team and for all your sweet and encouraging comments.
Ole' Bill would be jealous of me because with this month's release from My Favorite Things (MFT) I learned another way to say thank you – in Dutch.
I'm crazy nuts about this new Pure Innocence set, "The Netherlands." It just conjures up sweet images of the Hummel figurines Mom McClain collected or the Little Dutch Girl quilt my Grandma Black made from scraps of dresses she sewed for us. So darling.
We're inching closer and closer to the New Release Party on January 8 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can also WIN PRIZES! All the new stamps sets and Die-namics, will go on sale on January 8 at 10:00 PM EST. You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
Today we're revealing the last of the newest sets from My Favorite Things – two new sets from my favorite line, Pure Innocence. If you'd like to see the second set and all the teasers from the designers today, just click over to the MFT Blog now. Don't forget to leave comments as you visit the designers for the chance to win $10.00 gift certificates given away daily.
My little Dutch girl is paper pieced and fussy cut with Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane patterned paper and Copic colored onto X-Press it Blending card stock.
I used Memento Black Tuxedo ink for the areas colored with Copic Markers, but the rest is stamped with the juicy new Black Licorice premium dye ink. It's not designed to work around Copic markers, but it's amazing for solid stamping. The lines I get with this new ink are so perfect and full, that it makes it easier to cut the images for paper piecing. I'm so hooked on this new ink.
I know, you're thinking that tulips are the national flower of the Netherlands, but, hey, I did my research and learned that, really, the Netherlands have been the center of the world flower trade since the 1950's – including roses. So, you know, you just can't make a card about the Netherlands without a few flowers, and how gorgeous is the new mini hybrid rose?!
I paired the rose with the new Leaf-filled flourish Die-namic.
For the inside of my card, the Leaf-Filled Flourish is so elegant, all I did was add a felt heart from the new Rustic Hearts die-namic and a little button – easy peasy.
Here are the rest of the ingredients available from the My Favorite Things boutique today.
Finished size: 5-1/2" by 4-1/4". Other ingredients include Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Copic Markers (E00, E000, E11, and E30 for face; YR21 and YR24 for hair); and Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane Mini Deck pattern paper.
Even though that's the last of the new stamps being revealed, it's definitely not the last of the new release festivities. Tune in tomorrow for the big Pep Rally.
