When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep.

Welcome back everyone! Are you enjoying all the My Favorite Things Teasers? Just two more sleeps and all the new stamps and dies we've been teasing you with will be available to purchase in the Brand Spankin' New boutique.
That also means just two more sleeps before the New Release Party on February 4. Crazy fun! Really, you just never know what the party chatter will be about. But, you can be sure that some folks will win some prizes – maybe you. I'll see you there, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum.
Today is day six of our seven days of teasers, and my favorite of them all with three new Pure Innocence stamps. I'm playing with the darling "Cute as a Button" set which is freakishly adorable with the new Button Border Die-namic.
Buttons! I mean, really, who doesn't love buttons?!
They keep our blouses closed and our pants from falling down.
In the first grade I made this really hideous looking clay pot. Mom kept it on her dresser to hold spare buttons, which made me a little more proud of it. She always had an oddly diverse bunch of buttons, and I loved spilling them out onto her bedspread to play with them. I guess that's when my addiction started.
Yeah, imagine how that addiction grew when someone had the genius idea to add buttons to paper craft projects!
It's a sickness. I have so many buttons, I collect different containers to store them (some of my greatest flea market finds). I even embellish my button storage containers with, yes, buttons.
"The creative mind plays with the object it loves." Carl Gustav Jung said that. What can I say? I love buttons.
I'm not the only one, right?
Tips & Techniques
My little Pure Innocence doll is Copic colored, paper pieced and fussy cut.
The shadow box is from 7 Gypsies and embellished with lots of Pink Lemonade buttons. These hand-dyed buttons are sold by weight (3.5 ounces), so you get 50 to 150 buttons per pack. There are so many wonderfully unique buttons in each pack it almost puts Mom's button pot to shame.
The multicolored, patterned buttons are made with the new Button Border Die-namic.
My plan is to cover the box with clear acetate so the buttons can just shake loosely in their box. But, it's hard to photograph the acetate without glare, so I put that off for the picture.
The banners are made with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics from patterned paper and a Simplicity pattern. Yes, I pulled out the tissue from a pattern. If you do this (it's great fun), use lots and lots of layers of the tissue, because it's so thin and transparent.
These Ikea Spice Jars are the perfect size for holding a pack of My Favorite Things buttons. The Lollipop Treat Die-namic gave me the circle shapes, and I curved the sentiment, "sew cute," (from the new Pure Innocence Cute as a Button set) to fit into the circles.
I used this week's My Favorite Things West Stamp Club sketch (MFTWSC109). You can join me, HERE at the Forum.
Here are the rest of the ingredients.
Other ingredients include: My Mind's Eye 6" x 6" Designer paper Pad "Unforgettable"; 7 Gypsies White Solo Shadowbox Tray (6.5" by 6.625" by .875"); Simplicity pattern; Ikea RAJTAN Spice Jar; and May Arts ribbon. The turquoise basket in the picture is Mom's sewing basket. The ball jar is a flea market find.
This is just one of the three new sets being revealed today. Click on over to the MFT Blog now to see all the teasers for today. Be sure to leave comments as you go for the chance to win one of two $10.00 gift certificates given away daily. The winners will be posted on February 4 just before the party on the MFT blog.

wowzers what an adorable button project…crazy cute
I am also addicted to buttons. I played with my great-grandma’s button collection when I was little (that was the only “toy” she had for me to play with LOL). I inherited her collection…so I use them only for very special cards. I love the idea of the shaddow box…I can showcase some of my more treasured items this way. Thank you SO much for sharing!

I TOO am a button addict.. LOVE them! LOVE the new MFT goodies… thinking they were created just for us addicts right! Thats why I NEED them!
