Birthday 2013 Banner Sept25-PLHey everyone. Welcome to Catered Crop and my little stop on the Operation White Home Birthday Bash Blog Skip with Perfect Papercrafting. If you’ve been skipping along with us from home base, you just joined us from Laura’s place at Perfect Paper Crafting. If you just found us, you’ll want to go just two hops back to the Operation Write Home so you don’t miss a thing (like some yummy blog candy).

I’m so exited to be part of the blog hop today because it lets me sing praises to two amazing ventures: the fabulous work of the Operation Write Home (OWH) volunteers and my favorite paper crafting tool, Perfect Layers.

Happy Sixth Birthday to Operation Write Home! Congratulations to you and all your volunteers.

If you’re not familiar with OWH, they support our armed forces and their families by sending blank handmade cards to the troops to send back to their loved ones. It’s as American as apple pie and a lot more healthy for you. If you’d like to know how you can donate cards (including guidelines and tips), just click here or here.

MME Chalboard Greeting

OWH is already taking cards for Christmas and even Valentine’s Day, so I made a couple of gender-neutral cards that would work for Valentine’s Day. Besides being a great organization that does great things, OWH is also a terrific source of inspiration. – like the current Sketch Challenge #191 I used for my first card.

That little hint of black framing in both the cards is all made with the Perfect Layer tool. This puppy stays on my crafting desk all the time because I use it with just about every card.

I love my layers, but I had to careful not to add so many that mailing this would create problems for OWH. That’s almost as big a challenge for me as not adding glitter – another no, no for OWH cards. They need our envelopes, too, so I made some to match my cards – just for more giggles and grins.

Friends Make Good Times

Below are all the ingredients I used in my cards and envelopes and that’s it from me. Thanks so much for joining me, and I hope you’ll consider making some cards to send to OWH.

Now . . . off you go to the next skip . . . Pam Sparks’ Expressions With Heart.
