When I no longer thrill to the first snow of the season,
I’ll know I’m growing old. ~ Lady Bird Johnson
Leave it to a fellow Texan to get really excited about snow. We don’t see much here and when we do, it’s so short lived our snowman look a little more like slushy mud pies.
That’s when I get a wee little homesick for Indiana and Mom’s Camelot snow. That’s what she called it when the snow was fresh and dusted everything with a sparkle from the sun. It’s glorious to see.
Maybe Mom’s Camelot snow is why I like glitter so much. Well, that’s my story anyway.
Tips & Techniques
These sweet images are from Stacey Yacula’s new Winter Wishes collection at Purple Onion Designs. I used the darling Silver and Juniper birds, Winter Bough, Winter Adornments, and Winter Wishes Sentiments – 5 of the 26 new stamps.
For one week only you can purchase the entire Winter Wishes collection and save 25%. Hurry, because this offer ends on Thursday, 11/7/13, and Stacey’s stamps sell out quickly.
I created an SVG cut file to cut out the Juniper, Silver and the Christmas ornament with my Silhouette. I stamped, Copic colored and cut Juniper twice so I could pop up her wings. Then I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles for some snow.
Here are the Copic markers I used and the rest of the ingredients.
Hugs, and I’ll see you soon with more from the Stacey Yacula collection.
