say yes recipe swap and an announcement

The fun is always on the other side of a yes.

I wanted something light to read on the plane to Indiana so I picked up Tina Fey’s book Bossypants at the airport bookstore. I really didn’t expect any profound philosophy lessons, but I found a gem.

Tina said she learned that the first rule of improvisation is to agree – agree and say yes. You’ll have to read the book to see how she applied the rule on and off stage, but I’ll tell you why it struck a cord with me.

Retirement has been a fabulous surprise. I thought I would be at home making cards and crafting. Instead I’ve been able to say yes to amazing adventures like traveling; taking cooking, photography and sewing classes; volunteering; helping my daughter remodel her first home; and lending a hand to her businesses, Feb10 Design and Little Low.

Since last February my attention has been diverted to so many wonderful things that I just haven’t been giving the Recipe Swap challenge the attention it and you deserve. My intuition tells me that the Catered Crop challenges have run their course. It’s time to retire the Recipe Swap challenges.

I’ll still be sharing my adventures and misadventures on Catered Crop – so don’t leave me! But this will be our last Recipe Swap challenge. And, in the spirit of saying yes to everything – it’s our first ever “anything goes” challenge.

So, for this last challenge, say “yes” to whatever inspires you and just enjoy being the wonderfully creative creatures that you are! Anything Goes!

  • Include a link to us at Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often. This last challenge does not have a deadline.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.

You know I always have a Pinterest board for inspiration. So, for this challenge I’ve highlighted some of my favorite cards from the amazing women who made our challenges to special – my stamping heroes – our current and past designers: Anything Goes.

Our fabulous designers will be back on Sunday, October 8, with their creations. Until then . . . please know that, although I often don’t get around to commenting on everyone’s blogs, I think you all are absolutely amazing. I’m always honored when you share your talents here. I’ve loved our time together!
