Okay, yes, I'm still posting about our Christmas . . . can you believe it? If you know me, well, you're not surprised. I move slow. But, hey, January is kicking my butt at work, so, you know, a girl just does what she can. Any hay . . . I got an e-mail from a fan (whaz up, Melissa) asking about how to save projects from Stampin' up!'s My Digital Studio (MDS) into .jpg files, so here goes.
After you finish designing your gorgeous project, you go up to the top tool bar and select "Share Project."

That will get you a drop-down menu. From the drop down menu, select "Export to JPEG."

MDS will pop up a screen that will walk you through the rest . . . It's pretty straight forward after that.

Here's the final product. This is one of the pages I did for Erika Martin's on-line Journaling 101 Scrapbooking class. The journaling text (yes, I actually journaled) says
A McClain Family Christmas
A snowman ornament for Ben and a Santa ornament for Caitlin
Christmas Dinner
Grandma’s Santa collection
The Pickle Gift
24 Hours of The Christmas Story
A book for Grandpa
Christmas Cookies
The Christmas Star
And, just for giggles and grins . . . here's just a quickie slide show of our quirky Christmas 2009. As you can tell from my scrapbook page and maybe even a little from the slide show, our Christmas celebrations are all about our traditions – we have quite a few we honor each year. It's not built for variety, but it soothes our sentimental souls.

Thanks for letting me recap my Christmas 2009, it was definitely a fun one. Now, onward and forward to 2010 . . .
I love this picture of my sister – isn't she adorable! Such a hot chicky lady! And now it's official, she's a smart, hot chicky lady. She even has the certificate in safety management now to prove it. My adorable sis just graduated from Indiana University, showing all those young twenty somethings how it's done! I'm so proud of her.
I didn't get to be at her graduation, dang it, but I did get to see her in early December just before she graduated. Her only request for Christmas/Graduation was to make a Build-a-Bear together. So, that's exactly what we did.
I had so much fun helping Sharon with her bear (yes, complete with hard hat and boots), and I'm so proud of her, I made a scrapbook page about it. This was an easy-breezy page to make with Stampin' Up!'s "My Digital Scrapbook" software. I just made a few tweeks to one of their pre-designed pages.
I like making scrapbook pages with white backgrounds, because, for me, the most important elements on the page are the pictures – and the white background helps the pictures stand out more. It's also fun to make one of the pictures opaque and include it in your background, something you can't do very easily with traditional scrapbooking.
Sharon's dear boyfriend, Gary, lost his Dad yesterday morning after a hard fought battle with lung disease. I never got to meet Marion "Bud" Burkhart, but we love Gary, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so I know he must have been a very sweet man. Please keep them in your prayers this week.
We interrupt this blog for a couple of friendly reminders . . .
Erika Martin's fabulous, on-line Journaling 101 Scrapbooking Class starts Tomorrow! I've really enjoyed her sneak peaks – hope you get to join us. If you do, be sure to tell Erika that Linda sent you. I look forward to playing with all of you.

I've been updating my little "Rolodex" of scrapbooking/stamping/blogging resources. It's a list I started years ago and it just keeps growing. I just added a list of blogs that offer challenges and a list of wonderfully talented Texas scrapbooking entrepreneurs. You can always access my Rolodex by clicking on the button above, "Good Stuff." And, if you see something that needs to be added, just leave me a comment.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled program . . .
Oh my achy breaky bones . . . three days of chills, aches, cough . . . well, you get the picture. The couch and I have become such close buds, people are starting to talk. But, I think I’m on the mend today, and, honestly, it hasn’t been as bad as a flu I had years ago. Which is kind of an insult. Well, follow me for a minute. I was talking to the medical director of a nursing home last week who said older people aren’t getting the swine flu as badly as the young whippersnappers. Seems once you get it there’s permanent immunity, and there was a bad case of swine flu in the 60’s. So, since I’m a non-whippersnapper I get spared. Hmrgh, insulting, isn’t it.
Anyway . . . Erika Martin gave me the best possible medicine – beats even Tamaflu. She put me in the spotlight for her Journaling 101 course. Feels kind of weird to be all over the page of someone else’s blog, but, I’m so thrilled to be part of Erika’ project, I’m happy to promote it anyway I can. Oooo, and I’ve taken the first three classes in the series, and I can already tell you they’ve impacted my scrapbooking in tremendous ways. So, be sure to fly over to Erika’s to see yours truly off the couch and in the spotlight – just don’t run into any swines during your flight over there: Stampin’ Mama, Journaling 101 Design Team.
Welcome to the second Texas port of the Catty Cruise blog hop. If you just joined me from Angie Tieman's site, Schwooo, isn't she amazing? She put me in such a great mood for Christmas with her Just BeClause projects. We're heading from East to West and back again to 11 ports of call, all highlighting the latest Stampin' Up! mini catalog. If you lose you're way, you can always rejoin us at the Catty Cruise Home Port.
I get to show off the new Stampin' Up! digital scrapbooking program, My Digital Studio (MDS), available October 1. My very first project is - this blog. Of course, I couldn't stop there, so I also redesigned my Twitter page (link to the side). Yep – It's all Stampin' Up! – how cool is that. The MDS software comes with some great ideas and templates for making cards but I wanted to make a "hybrid" card (a combination of digital and non-digital). I challenged myself to see if I could "CASE" one of the prettiest cards in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery, Heather T's "Simply White" card. It was amazingly easy not only to make the card, but to switch out the colors.
Can you see my new watermark? Yep – made with components of the MDS. I opened the MDS stamp, Certified, in Photoshop, erased the word "Certified" and replaced it with my name. Here's the before and after. Very clever, no? Here's the before and after. Very clever, no?
Because MDS is a digital medium, you can also turn your digital scrapbooks into an on-line video. Using the pre-designed scrapbook kits in MDS is so freakin' easy, I made this 19-page scrapbook in one evening – with one eye on the Dallas Cowboy football game. (Thank goodness the Cowboys won. Who knows what the pages would have looked like.)
I made this scrapbook to honor my daughter's college graduation in August. If you don't want to take the time now to see the whole video (do come back later), here's my favorite page.
I have a confession. The MDS does have an option to export your scrapbook into a movie, but when I tried it, I got a fuzzy result. No worries – you can export all your scrapbook pages into .jpg files. Using the .jpg files, I was able to make my movie with the Windows Movie Maker. The MDS software package is so versatile, you can use it with whatever other programs you like, such as Photoshop, Smilebox, Flickr . . . the options are mind boggling.

And guess what, I'm not the only one on the cruise whose been having fun with the program . . . so it's time to send you onward and Westward to North Dakota where you can visit LeeAnn Greff's Flowerbug's Inkspot.
